Colorado Springs experienced a tragic motorcycle accident in October 2018 that left one person dead and another injured. The accident occurred on the city's west side, involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. Emergency responders rushed to the scene to treat the victims and secure the area.

Though the cause of the accident is still under investigation, the incidence of motorcycle crashes in Colorado Springs is on the rise. According to statistics compiled by the Colorado Department of Transportation, there were 302 motorcycle accidents in Colorado Springs in 2017, a 41% increase from the year before. Of these, 57 resulted in serious injuries, while two were fatal.

As the number of motorcycles on Colorado Springs roads continues to grow, it is increasingly important for all drivers to be aware of their surroundings and drive with caution. Motorcyclists, especially, should take extra steps to protect themselves by wearing proper safety equipment and following traffic laws. By taking responsibility for road safety, we can help prevent further tragedies like the one in October.
