But exemptions from needing a license don’t end there. In states like Montana and New Hampshire, you don’t need a license to drive certain types of motorcycles — provided they are under 50 ccs and limited in speed. And if you ride your motorcycle on private property, you generally don’t need a license in most states.

So, if you’ve been dreaming of riding a motorcycle but you don’t have a license, there may be options available to you. Check with your local DMV or motor vehicle department to find out what your state requires. You may be able to hit the road without the hassle of getting a motorcycle license.
